Independent Professional Body
ANA is an independent professional body and global knowledge network. As the first professional body for applied neuroscience in the world, ANA and members are shaping the future of this field by:

-
Defining Professional Standards – established qualifications to delineate the domain of applied neuroscience

-
Living by an Ethical Charter – ANA Ethical Practice Guidelines (AEPG)

-
Establishing a CPD Programme – affiliating training and education to ANA membership

-
Advocating for Authority – Lobbying for authority to regulate the profession across industry, education, and healthcare

-
Recognition - pursuing formal recognition through instruments like the Science Council and Royal Charter
Science Council Professional Registration
Professional registration with the Science Council is a priority goal for ANA. We aim to become a licensed professional body, enabling members a direct route to professional registrations, including Chartered Scientist (CSci) and Registered Scientist (RSci).

In the meantime, ANA members may apply for these professional registrations directly through the Science Council — provided they meet the eligibility criteria, including membership with one of the Council’s existing Licensed Bodies.

We will share updates as ANA progresses toward becoming a licensed body.
ANA Member Badges
Upon registering with the ANA Community as a professional member, ANA Member Badge can be displayed on business websites, professional networks, social profiles, and for any collaboration with ANA. These badges demonstrate a commitment to ethical practice, professional development, and advancing the field of applied neuroscience.

Each badge signifies a member’s alignment with the ANA Ethical Charter, their chosen Social Pledge(s), and engagement with the wider neuroscience and interdisciplinary community. Whether you are a Full, Student/Graduate or Associate member, your ANA badge represents dedication to ethical and professional standards in practice.
